Celebrating Creativity, Confidence and Achievement Through Carnival Costume Mentoring

UKON Careers was delighted to deliver the final session of our Carnival Costume Mentoring Group ahead of the Barking and Dagenham Carnival.

This session marked the end of an inspiring creative journey, where participants came together to complete the final touches and add the finishing details to their incredible carnival costumes before proudly showcasing their creations at the event.

Throughout the programme, participants have had the opportunity to develop their creativity, learn new costume design skills and explore the process of transforming ideas into unique and imaginative carnival pieces. The sessions have supported participants to build confidence, develop practical skills, work collaboratively and celebrate their individual talents.

The journey has been truly inspiring, and we are extremely proud of the commitment, creativity and enthusiasm shown by every member of the group. Seeing their confidence grow and watching their ideas develop into finished costumes has been a fantastic achievement.

We would like to thank the BLC staff for their continued support, encouragement and commitment throughout the project. Their contribution has helped create a welcoming and supportive environment where participants have been able to develop their skills, express their creativity and prepare to showcase their achievements as part of the Barking and Dagenham Carnival.

We look forward to seeing the group proudly perform and share their amazing costumes with the wider community at the carnival.
