Mentoring Group Thursday the 2nd of July 2026
Wed 29 Jul 2026We are delighted to share a feature by Pen to Print celebrating the Barking and Dagenham Carnival 2026 and the creative work delivered by UKON Careers in the lead-up to Carnival Day.
The feature highlights the wide range of activities delivered across the borough, including pre-carnival workshops, dance and movement sessions, costume and flag making, school activities and creative opportunities for local residents of all ages.
It also showcases our exhibitions atBarking Learning Centre and Dagenham Learning Centre, celebrating carnival heritage, cultural expression and the creativity of local communities.
The Carnival programme provided opportunities for residents to participate, develop creative skills, work alongside artists and contribute to a vibrant celebration of culture and community. It demonstrates the importance of accessible arts and cultural activity in bringing people together and creating opportunities for participation.
We are extremely grateful to Pen to Print for documenting and sharing the story behind the Carnival and for their continued partnership and support in promoting creative opportunities across Barking and Dagenham.
We would also like to thank our funders, partners, collaborators, artists, volunteers and everyone who participated in making the 2026 Carnival possible.
