Our Carnival Arts Project Launch was nothing short of magical – it felt like the WHOLE of John Smith House came alive with community spirit, creativity & connection.

From steelpan beats that had everyone moving, to Soca dance sessions that brought the ENERGY — and let’s not forget the colourful Carnival Craft Workshop where imaginations ran wild

One resident shared: “I recently had a death in the family… this helped with my bereavement and made me feel part of a community again.”

A child who usually isolates herself found her confidence, joined in every activity and even made new friends — telling us she had a great time!

This is more than a workshop — it’s a celebration of life, healing, culture and togetherness.
