We want to invite people to come along to our Carnival Arts Project Launch Party on the 13th of April from 1pm – 6pm at John Smith House.

This will be a day full of fun and activities. Of course, Snacks and refreshments will be provided.

At John Smith House there will be opportunities to take part in Steel Pan and carnival arts workshops such as mask making, carnival headdress making and creative thinking.

It’s a great time to also register for our Peer Mentoring Carnival Arts programme which we will be delivering weekly at JSH where participants can develop their carnival costume-making skills, employability skills, confidence, and resilience and prepare for performing the costumes they have designed and made at Barking and Dagenham Carnival on the 8th of July.

It is a great opportunity to sign up for steelpan sessions which we will deliver throughout the summer if we have sufficient interest from JSH

This is an event for everyone, the community and families.

You’ll get to meet our partners and also meet our young apprentices and young people who will be delivering various performances throughout.
